Printprep.art accepts JPG, JPEG, PNG, TIFF, WebP, and BMP files. Maximum file size is 400 MB, and the image can be up to 260 megapixels (up to 14,400x18,000 pixels).

DPI (dots per inch) determines how sharp a printed image looks. At 300 DPI, every inch of the print contains 300 dots of detail, which is the industry standard for high-quality prints. Each size shows a quality badge (Excellent, Good, Fair, AI Upscale, or Image too small) so you know exactly what you're getting before you generate.

Each size shows the effective DPI your source image can achieve at that print size:

Excellent - 300+ DPI. Print-perfect.
Good - 200-299 DPI. Solid quality for most buyers.
Fair - 150-199 DPI. Acceptable for large prints viewed at distance.
AI Upscale - 72-149 DPI. Printprep.art can upscale these supported sizes to improve quality.
Image too small - Under 72 DPI. These sizes are disabled by default because the source image is too small for a reliable result.

Printprep.art only shows sizes in the current supported catalog, and the badges help you choose the strongest option for your artwork.

You can also specify a completely custom size (see below).

Yes. Printprep.art has a Custom Size feature at the top of the ratio selector on the crop page. Simply enter your desired width and height (in pixels or inches), and Printprep.art will treat it as its own ratio. The crop box will lock to your custom aspect ratio, and you can zoom and pan the image as usual. This is perfect for unusual formats, background-knockout images you want to upscale, or any size that does not fit the standard templates.

One upload counts as one artwork for the month. That artwork includes crop, resize, AI upscaling, mockups, Etsy copy, delivery PDF, and Etsy push.

The Art Management re-process button has been removed to keep billing clear. Upload the artwork again when you want a fresh crop; saved crop settings can still restore for that file.

An artwork is used when that uploaded file completes its first successful processing run. Additional output files from that artwork do not cost extra.

If you choose a solid background color (white or custom hex), Printprep.art outputs JPEG files at 95% quality, which is the best balance of file size and quality. If you choose a transparent background, the output is PNG to preserve the transparency.

Every file follows a consistent naming pattern:

A-Series files use the ISO size, exact millimeter dimensions, and pixel dimensions. Other print families also include their inch dimensions. Your customers will know exactly what they're getting.

Your artwork allowance depends on your plan: Free (3 total artworks, no monthly reset), Starter (30/mo), or Enterprise (120/mo). Each artwork includes all ratios, sizes, mockups, AI upscaling, and Etsy delivery tools.

Both. After processing, you can download any individual output file or grab everything at once as a ZIP.

Files over 400 MB or 260 megapixels will be rejected at upload. If your image is large but under the limits, Printprep.art handles the heavy lifting server-side, so you do not need a powerful computer.
